Our Story

Prepádo began with a simple moment in the kitchen. After years in high-pressure consulting and corporate leadership, our founder, Susan Cacchio, found her greatest joy not in boardrooms or business flights, but while chopping fresh, locally-grown vegetables for dinner. That spark ignited a dream: to build a company rooted in healthy food and healthy living

Our Journey To Prepádo

So, in 1994, Susan left behind the world of corporate healthcare to start a small organic food stand in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. What started as a pop-up quickly grew into a beloved local staple and, soon after, a thriving Columbus-based brand with a commitment to quality organics, community partnerships, and fair pricing.

As demand increased, Prepádo expanded from farmers market favorites to fully-prepared meals, baby food, and grab-and-go options for families seeking nourishment they could trust. Growth never meant compromise. Susan doubled down on local sourcing, strong relationships with grocers, and a people-first culture. Employees earned more, stayed longer, and helped build a loyal customer base who knew that Prepádo always delivered fresh, honest food.

From our early days to today, our values remain the same. We nourish healthy habits and support the communities we call home. We believe in treating people with care, championing local agriculture, and never cutting corners when it comes to quality.

Thirty years later, Prepádo continues to honor Susan’s original vision: real food, grown with integrity, crafted with purpose, and enjoyed by families across the Midwest and beyond.
